Ground Rules Impasse Broken!

At approximately 5:30 p.m. on January 11, negotiators for AFGE and TSA reached agreement on ground rules for the upcoming collective bargaining negotiations. The parties were able to break the logjam that has delayed the start of negotiations for a first contract for the 44,000 TSA officers represented by AFGE. We’ll have more details in the coming days.

  1. This is great news, the ICE has been broken. Negotiators can get down to business. Now more then ever we need the support of TSOs, BDOs, and STIs to unite in unity and join your Local union. Let’s all work together for a strong contract.

  2. good, lets see what happens,,,,paid parking? rights? what will they agtrr w/…..and will all the TSO gwt off thier arse and vote,,,,it almost like geoge orwelll 1984

  3. I think I can speak for everyone I work with in asking AFGE to ensure that TSA is made to comply with the OHC directives that outline our PROPER pay!

In this, I am not meaning to go against Administrator Pistole’s determination that dictates we are NOT to go to the GS Scale………nor are we to negotiate our pay.

We have all seen the Core Compensation Table………..

MD 1100.51-1 and the accompanying handbook outlines our positions with JATs that have been approved by the OPM…………and it also outlines where our pay is to be set…………in accordance with said Directives and Handbook..

Management has no problem implementing (and many times twisting) directives that meets their own ends………….however………..directives, like the one mentioned above, that BEHOOVE the EMPLOYEE are never discussed……………never implemented………….and generally ignored!

TSA Management is ‘NON-Compliant” with OHC directives. AFGE, please force them comply with the directives, in the same way they enforce US to comply.
